Frequently asked questions

How do I choose which pages to extract?+

Type individual page numbers or ranges separated by commas — for example "1, 3-5, 8" pulls pages 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8 into a single new PDF.

Can I split a long document into equal parts?+

Yes. Switch to "Split every N pages" and enter how many pages each slice should contain. You'll get one PDF per slice and can download them individually or as a ZIP.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?+

No. Everything runs inside your browser using pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device.

What about password-protected PDFs?+

Encrypted PDFs are not supported. Remove the password in the application that created the file first, then split the unlocked copy here.

Does splitting reduce quality?+

No. Pages are copied byte-for-byte from the source PDF into the new files, so images and text look exactly as they did in the original.

What is the maximum file size?+

100 MB per PDF. That covers essentially every scanned document or digital book you are likely to run into.
